HOW TO APPEAR BY ZOOM FOR MARION COUNTY CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC COURT

RULES FOR APPEARING BY ZOOM IN MARION COUNTY CIVIL COURT:
- Judge Stedelin requires all case participants who wish to appear by Zoom to seek prior approval from him to do so. This can be done by filing a Motion and Proposed Order in your case at least three (3) business days in advance of your court date to allow for processing time.
- Judge Stedelin does not allow the clerk’s office to approve Zoom appearances. If you choose to appear by Zoom for your criminal or traffic case before Judge Stedelin and you did not get his permission to appear by Zoom, you are doing so at your own risk. No calls to the clerk’s office will waive your appearance in person.
- All participant screen names must be your first and last name as it appears on the court docket.
- Please remain muted until your case is called.
- When appearing by Zoom, all participants must conduct themselves as if they were physically in the courtroom. This includes dressing appropriately, removing hats, staying seated, not smoking or eating, etc.
- All participants appearing by Zoom must have a reliable, strong internet connection.
- All participants wishing to appear by Zoom should be familiar with how to operate Zoom.

Beginning January 1st, 2026, Marion County Civil Court will only be available on:
Mondays, Tuesdays (no court reporter), and Thursdays.
Requests for Friday settings will need to be approved by Judge Stedelin.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Civil Court will only be held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
