Court Holidays

Court Reporter Availability

Due to a shortage of certified court reporters, there are certain court events where a court-provided court reporter is not available in Marion county. Unless otherwise approved through the Chief Judge’s Office, the following schedule reflects when a court reporter may be available for certain court events.

If you have a hearing scheduled on a day when no court-provided court reporter is available, you can call the Chief Judge’s Office to see if one can be provided for your hearing. You may need to bring your own certified court reporter. If you bring your own court reporter, you will be responsible for the costs of the same.

Criminal Court

Criminal Court is held every day of the week.

Days of the week WITH a court-provided Court Reporter (Criminal Court): 

Monday (for new prisoners only – no reporter available for the daily call)

Wednesday
Thursday
Friday

Days of the week WITHOUT a court-provided Court Reporter (Criminal Court): 

Monday

Civil Court

Beginning January 1, 2026, Civil Court will only be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Requests for Friday civil hearings will need approval of Judge Stedelin.

Juvenile Court

Juvenile Court is held on Wednesday unless otherwise scheduled by the Judge.
